This example is one our proudest moments, in the crazy storm in the Gap in Brisbane in 2008 a customer had his newly installed Caravan Stormcover on, luckily for him because he was right slap bang in the middle of the storms path.

The end result was that by the time the storm had passed the roof of his house had been blown off. The Stormcover for his Caravan suffered some minor damage with two of the straps becoming loose from the intense winds.

His Caravan suffered on the rear side that faced directly into the hail some minor dents that were very small and were not a major insurance claim.

Our own Tests

We have conducted our own tests using a StormBlanket only, not a full stormcover.

We took water bomb balloons and filled them with water, we left to freeze overnight, creating 2 sizes, one batch was approximately cricket ball sized and the other batch were golf ball size.

Water frozen in a freezer overnight is much more dense that hail is when falling through the sky.

 

Stormcovers design

Do you guarantee against Hail?

No, we dont guarantee against the weather as we have no idea what size hail might fall from the sky, but we did our own tests with golf ball sized and cricket ball size frozen water bombs, these were dropped from a 4th floor balcony onto the roof of a car, there was no damage from the golf ball size ice lumps and very mino dents from the cricket ball sized frozen water. This freezing methods produces a much denser ice than hail stones are.

There are thousands of Stomcovers now in use in Australia and they have been through some very intense hail storms without negative effect.
